Hydrangea Quercifolia ‘Pee Wee’

Pee Wee provides the same four-season appeal and lavish flower production as Snow Queen in less than half the space. The bold foliage of this dwarf four-season shrub provides drama in spring and summer before turning a magnificent chocolate-burgundy in fall. The huge, elongated panicles of white flowers, which mature to pale pink, put on a summer show, the dried flowerheads and the peeling, cinnamon-colored bark enliven your winter landscape.
The species can grow 7 feet high and 12 feet wide so we are pleased indeed with this dwarf selection which reaches only 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide! The flowers are slightly smaller but just as lavishly borne as in the larger species. Resistant to pests and diseases, this care-free shrub thrives in any location from full sun to deep shade in moist, rich, well-drained soil. Zones 5-9.
