Huge, heavily textured leaves, 12 inches across and 16 inches long, form a graceful 4- by 4-foot mound, topped by tall spikes of midsummer flowers. Great as an architectural specimen or in indoor arrangements. Prefers full shade to 3/4 sun. The artistic beauty and richness of Hosta foliage, unequaled in any other shade-loving plant, is being recognized more widely every year. The bold, colorful, and often fragrant flowers are excellent for cutting, as are the leaves. Hostas are a must for any shady planting, and many perform well in sun, too.
