A Double Edge on Every Petal!
Reblooms very heavily on semi-evergreen plants. The most spectacular Daylily of the season, ‘Crystal Pinot’ regales you with TWO bands of edging, a matching eyezone, neat ruffling, and lovely color combination. It is hardy through zone 3 in the north (and there are murmurings of zone 2, difficult as that may be to believe!), very vigorous, and exceptionally resistant to heat and drought. The perfect perennial, a mix of beauty and vigor. These large flowers appear first in early summer, then repeat lavishly near season’s end. The base color is a peachy apricot blend, very handsome on broad, overlapping petals with neat ruffling. But it’s the two bands of edging that really set this Daylily apart.
The outermost edging is very thin, a shade of apricot-pink that matches the base color of the petals. The broader edge is deep red to burgundy, just the color of the eyezone! This plant reaches 20 inches tall and spreads 2 to 3 feet wide, ready to divide into many new plants every few years. Semi-evergreen, it is ideal for mass planting as well as small groupings in the border and even in containers. A stellar new Daylily, Daylilies are among the easiest of all perennials to grow, withstanding heat, humidity, poor soil, drought, and cold effortlessly. They don’t mind a bit of neglect, and even spread over time, so that you can divide them every few years for plenty more color. Make ‘Crystal Pinot’ the focus of the Daylily garden for many seasons to come! Zones 3-9.
