Geranium ‘Margaret Wilson’

Finely Cut Foliage Veined in Snowy White

These reflexed blooms arise just above the foliage.

This British cultivar offers a distinctively different look for border, edging, and containers. The large, deeply-cut light green foliage is generously marbled with white, outlining the veins and dappling the leaves with snowy flecks that persist through summer’s heat and sun. Showy even when not in flower, this is a glorious addition to the garden.

‘Margaret Wilson’ slowly grows about a foot high and slightly wider, with a dense yet billowing habit. Its lavender-purple blooms are set just above the foliage, and arise very abundantly from mid-spring through early summer. About an inch across, they have sharply reflexed petals, the better to attract butterflies, which visit this plant in great numbers.

Left alone by rabbits, this hardy Geranium is quite compact and self-sufficient, preferring partial shade to full sun and adaptable to a variety of soils provided the drainage is good. A fine choice for any garden or container. Zones 5-9.
