Unbelievable Fragrance and Rich, Deep Color!
These Flowering Tobacco blooms won’t quit all summer!
Winner of a 2006 All-America Selection, Perfume Deep Purple is the Nicotiana our gardens (and our noses!) have been waiting for. Not only is it magnificently scented, but it blooms very heavily over a long, long summer season. If you grew the mix of the Perfume series last year and thought, “Now THESE are terrific plants,” just wait until you see this over-achiever in your garden.Usually Nicotiana is selected for either scent or blooms, but the Perfume Hybrid series was chosen for BOTH. What a great idea — summer-long blooms of deepest purple on neat little plants just 20 inches tall and 12 inches wide.
If your summers are hot and humid, Flowering Tobacco is the annual you MUST grow. It thrives on the very same weather that makes others flop and give up the ghost. And the scent is sweet without being cloying, evocative of old-fashioned cottage gardens. You will love it!These blooms are 2 inches long, shaped like magnificently long trumpets, and very, very abundant. And unlike some Flowering Tobaccos, these blooms face upward, so you can enjoy their full splendor in planters, along the front of the border, edging the walkway, or dotted around the patio garden. They love sun, but can tolerate partial shade too. Could any plant be more accommodating. Start these seeds indoors in late winter and set them out when the warm spring temperatures arrive, spacing plants a foot or so apart. They will bloom reliably all summer, not resting until the cold weather sets in. And their fragrance will fill the garden, generously lending its sweetness to nearby unscented annuals from Zinnia to Cosmos.
Pkt is 50 seeds.
