Dianthus ‘Ruby’s Tuesday’

Long-Blooming, Profuse, and FragrantOne of the Devon Cottage series of English Carnations.

One of the longest and most profusely blooming Carnations in the world, ‘Ruby’s Tuesday’ carpets the garden floor or container in vivid crimson from midsummer through mid-fall. Double blooms with nicely pinked edges and rich color completely hide the silvery gray foliage at the height of the season, and beg to be cut for bouttonieres and nosegays.

One of the exciting new Devon Cottage series of English Carnations, ‘Ruby’s Tuesday’ is a hardworking delight for any sunny setting! The Devon Cottage series is a very floriferous, compact, large-flowered selection from British nurseryman John Whetman (of Devon, of course). The blooms are long-lasting as well and very strongly fragrant, with that invigorating spicy aroma for which Carnations are famous. They arise from midsummer through mid-fall above needle-like foliage, carpeting the sunny border floor, gracing containers, and even blanketing slopes and banks.

Zones 7-11.
