Deep Maroon “”Hemispheres”" Add Drama to the Late Spring Garden!
A striking accent to pastel-toned blooms, and a long-lasting cut flower. (Heirloom, 1800). One of the most dramatic members of the Allium family, this late-spring to early-summer bloomer sports masses of outstretched stars in a rounded 2-inch flowerhead. Each wine-red bloom has a round green center and tiny green pads on the tip of each petal; as the blooms mature, the colors darken to purplish-black. Superb fresh or dried, this richly-colored gem stands out in the sunny garden. Plant reaches 2 to 3 feet tall and 10 inches wide.
Zones 4-9.
